Title: A Venom on the Thymus

Description:

This artwork highlights two contrasting aspects of cancer. On one side, a healthy, blooming thymus grows and nourishes the body, symbolized through healing plants. On the other, a cancerous thymus poisons the body, depicted with toxic, invasive flora cause destruction to the body. The piece also reflects the metastasis of cancer where the body forgets its own boundaries and the disease spreads beyond its origin, silently invading what once was whole. In the background, atypical cells begin to take form, capturing the hidden chaos at the root of this transformation. This shows how one damaged organ can act as a culprit for the whole body. It presents a striking contrast between what heals and what harms a reminder of how the body’s own garden can, at times, turn against itself.
